Retiro & Recrio is a weekly community market organized by Retiro Arts, taking place every Saturday on Rua do Retiro, in the Historic Centre of Guimarães.

Opening hours are 10:00 a.m. until sunset (approximately 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. during summer and 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. during winter).

The initiative was created to activate public space, strengthen neighbourhood life, and promote a local, creative, and community-based economy.

More than just a market, it is a project focused on enhancing the local area, encouraging social regeneration, and activating urban cultural life through community engagement, civic participation, and sustainable practices.

Participation in the market is subject to a fee for each selected date. Once the participant selection process has been completed, payment details will be sent to the selected participants.

The participation fee is €30 per market day and includes one 200 cm × 200 cm canopy and one 180 cm × 75 cm table. A tablecloth will also be provided to cover the table (its use is optional).

Participants are welcome to personalize their space with their own decorations and any other elements they consider appropriate to showcase their work, provided these are reasonable and in keeping with the atmosphere of the event.

Any installations or display elements that are unusual or require special consideration must be approved by the organizers in advance.
